A clear guide to Halloween: The Game multiplayer, including the confirmed 1v4 format and what to verify before making crossplay claims.

What is the multiplayer format?

The confirmed format is one Michael against four Civilian players. That tells you the team shape, not the complete objective loop, win conditions, or role balance. Read the in-game objective and record the exact mode name before using a match as evidence.

Is crossplay confirmed?

The available official launch material lists PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, but a platform list alone is not proof of crossplay. We will mark crossplay as confirmed only when the official support information or a reproducible cross-platform lobby test shows it.

What to check in a lobby

  1. Record each player’s platform and game version.
  2. Check whether the lobby exposes an invite or account-link requirement.
  3. Test joining from another platform without assuming that a friend request is enough.
  4. Note whether voice, party, matchmaking, and progression behave differently.
  5. Save the date and patch number with the result.

Short answer for new players

You can safely plan around a 1v4 structure and three listed platform families. Treat crossplay, cross-progression, queue rules, and party limits as recheck items until the official documentation or client test is available.
